Overview

PrepWing ("the App") is developed by VertexLab Solutions LLC. PrepWing is a practice tool for job interviews. This policy explains exactly what data the App handles, how it is collected, what it is used for, and who receives it.

Data We Collect and How

Job details you type in — your target role, an optional company name, and an optional job posting you paste.
Resume highlights you type in — an optional free-text summary of your experience, entered in Settings.
Your interview answers as text — when you answer a question out loud, your speech is transcribed on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The audio recording never leaves your iPhone; only the resulting text transcript is used.
Practice history and scores — your sessions, scores, and progress are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not have access to them.

PrepWing has no account system and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or advertising frameworks.

How Your Data Is Used, and Who Receives It (AI Processing)

PrepWing's core feature — generating interview questions and grading your answers — is powered by a third-party AI model. With your explicit permission, which the App requests before anything is sent, the following data is transmitted over an encrypted connection when you practice:

your role, company, pasted job posting, and resume highlights — used to generate tailored interview questions;
the text transcript of your spoken answers (and the question asked) — used to produce your scores, strengths, fixes, and model answers;
question text — used to synthesize the interviewer's voice.

This data is sent to our backend service hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (privacy policy), which forwards it to Anthropic, PBC (privacy policy) to be processed by the Claude AI model. Both providers process the data solely to service each request, under protections equivalent to this policy.

This data is used solely to produce your questions and feedback. It is not used to train AI models, is not sold, is not used for advertising, and is not used to identify you. We do not retain it on our servers beyond what is needed to process each request, and it is not stored by us after the response is returned.

Delivery metrics (speaking pace, filler words, pauses) are computed entirely on-device and are never transmitted.

Your Consent and Control

The App asks for your permission before the first time any data is sent for AI processing, and nothing is transmitted unless you allow it. You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings > Privacy > Allow AI question & answer grading; while it is off, no data leaves your device (AI-powered practice features will not function). You can delete all locally stored practice data by deleting the App.

Third-Party Services

Apple StoreKit — in-app subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts our backend proxy that relays AI requests.
Anthropic, PBC — provides the Claude AI model that generates questions and feedback.

Children's Privacy

PrepWing is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

Depending on your region (including GDPR for EEA users and CCPA for California residents), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because PrepWing stores your data on your device and retains nothing server-side, most requests can be satisfied by editing or deleting data in the App. For anything else, contact us and we will help.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
