Everything you log in Emberwell stays on your iPhone. There is no Emberwell server, no account, no sign-up, and no analytics. We could not see your data if we wanted to, because it never leaves your device.
Emberwell collects no data whatsoever. The information you enter — symptom events, daily check-ins, cycle days, hormone-therapy regimens and doses, lab results, notes, and appointment questions — is stored only in the app's private database on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Emberwell has no registration, no login, and no email capture. Nothing identifies you to us.
Emberwell contains no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party code that transmits data. We do not know how you use the app, and that is by design.
Your Emberwell data is included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or computer backup) under Apple's backup protections, and is restored when you restore a backup. This is handled entirely by Apple; we have no access to your backups.
You can export your complete data (JSON and CSV) or generate a doctor-visit PDF report at any time, free, regardless of subscription status. Exports are created on your device, and sharing them — for example, handing the report to your clinician — is always your explicit action through the iOS share sheet.
The optional Emberwell Plus subscription is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Payment information is handled by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy; we never see it.
Reminders (such as the optional evening check-in or hormone-therapy reminders) are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is transmitted anywhere.
Emberwell is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone — including children.
Emberwell provides educational information and personal tracking tools. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult a qualified clinician about your health.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Because the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
